The Cute Cat and Dog path

...I just came across this photo - I took it last Easter, well, two weeks ago, in Poland, on the way back from the basket blessing - I just couldn't help it, they looked so cute! And they were looking at me and Bob while we walked, and what's even better - while we took out our cameras and started the photo session with them in a leading role :)

I forgot to place the photo in the Easter post, but I guess they deserve their own anyway :)

The Secret Garden paths

I've lived here for almost 3 months, but basically I knew only the way to the university or to a nearby Albert Heijn shop... So I guess it was the time to go out and explore... I didn't expect anything exciting, there are just a few streets around our house, with nice houses along them... And the church to which our house is attached - with a cemetary (usually closed anyway) behind it...

I found it sweet - well, I didn't eat the bird seeds, but the idea reminded me of my own childhood...

But if you turn into one of those little streets, just 100 meters from the house - you will be stunned! I couldn't believe my eyes - it was like a different world, so quiet, almost magical... Maybe it was because of the mood shadowing me recently - the Secret Garden's magical feelings...

And being pushed by the same mood I went to a little wood spread around the university... The weather was nice, the sun was shining, beautiful light for photos, very nice magical ambience...

Well, I felt inspired... :D

Easter in Poland

Well, the trip was short but intense. Very intense. Many city walks around my home town called Piła - it was mostly because of Bob who had never been to Poland before... 

The city is very beautiful, especially in the sun rays, in the spring when everything is green and colourful of blooming trees... 

We spent some relaxing time in the nearby reserve called Kuźnik - it's just outside the city borders but it seems like a different world - wild, unknown, misterious... There are many wild animals and birds...

                      

Also long hours spent on... shopping. Mostly food as I'm not really a fan of Dutch food...

And finally the Easter dinner - awesome food made by my mum, typically Polish, typically Eastery... 

We even went to a church - there's a tradition to take a basket full of food to be blessed, so we didn't run out of food the coming year...

...and the Easter race afterwards. This is an event taking place on Christmas and Easter, I think for last 11 years now... It's in the center of Piła, on a small island. There is basically a group of people who come almost every time, we are a group of friends, close, far... A great way to unglue ourselves from a boring anyway tv... 

Now most of the people come also with their families, well... and we always have fun. I've never took part in it, I'm an active supporter and photographer ;) And a chatter ;) It's nice to see people who I haven't seen sometimes for ages! Drumming session, singing, people passing by with surprised faces... :D Great fun!!!

The last but not least - my pre-birthday party. Wow, it was so nice! Many people managed to come, I made a reservation in Atmosfera pub (thanks Artur!!) and there were not enough seats at the end! Endless chatting - sometimes after quite a few years!! - drinking, singing about Bolsheviks...

The surprise Sto lat! song (a Polish equivalent of Happy birthday) played and sung by half of the people in the pub moved me to tears ;)

And a flight back the next morning... You can imagine what I felt...

The beginning

Hello everybody! Welcome to my blog!

I would never think I'll be writing one, but there are more and more people complaining about the lack of news from me... I'm not sure where I should start. Maybe from my last visit to Poland...
